Emily Chen is a hairstylist, salon owner turned global educator with over 20 years of experience behind the chair and more than 16 years teaching stylists and salon owners. Passionate about artistry and mentorship, she leads by example, sharing her expertise to help others grow both technically and professionally.

In 2018, Emily founded BHS Enterprises, a creative business and parent company originally established as the home of Brooks & Harlow Salon. Since then, it has evolved into the umbrella behind Emily’s expanding professional ventures, including live education, digital content, brand partnerships, and future creative projects currently in development.

In 2022, Emily’s social media presence (@EmChenHair) took off, now reaching over 1.5 million followers across platforms. Known for her authenticity, humor, and no-bullshit approach, she’s built a movement around “real life salon education” - teaching in a way that makes complicated concepts simple, practical, and easy to understand. No jargon. No ego. Just honest, approachable education designed for real hair stylists & salon owners.
